My career in floristry started in the 1980’s, growing dried flowers in my garden for craft fairs.
My passion continued and developed, and in 1996 I opened my florist shop in Minster, Isle of Sheppey. The business was a large part of my life for the next 23 years!
Three years ago, I started Isle Craft Flowers in the form of small workshop classes run from my home in Minster. We have so far done hand ties, baskets, flowers in pumpkins, wedding flowers and much more.
The workshops have been very well received. My aim is to make them low key and relaxing, interacting with like-minded people, talking about all things flowers while learning new skills and techniques.
I have now started to grow flowers in my garden for use in my workshops. Along with sharing my skills and extensive experience with fresh flowers, I love to create dried flower gifts, along with small dried flower arrangements for weddings.
My classes have, for the last year or so, been virtual, on-line, in order to meet Covid-19 restrictions. However, looking ahead, I am planning and look forward to holding classes in my own home again very soon.
